In this part of my photo diaries, you will be seeing pictures strictly from social media! Many of you know I don’t have Instagram so I post a lot on my Tumblr ( And recently VSCO). I hope you all enjoy and get inspired to go out and make memories of your own!
So I had the pleasure to meet the beautiful Fashion photographer and YouTuber, Ronke Raji ( Also known as Chromeandraader!). Her make-up is just as flawless in real life, but even better: an awesome personality. An intelligent person is one who doesn’t hoard all of the knowledge they possess, and intelligent she was. She taught us to see that beautiful things are in plain sight but we have to actively seek out the beauty in things. Even things as plain as yellow walls, lol.
We set out on a quest to explore art in Baltimore! She took us to an alley that was literally an explosion of art! Walls and walls covered in the realization of soooo many individual’s creativity! Layers of art intersected to create beautiful art that excited and heightened my senses. Art is such a beautiful thing because you can explore the intricate parts of a person’s personality through their art.
After this awesome, fun-filled experience I want to become more of a wanderer. I literally want to become my own best friend so I can wander alone and feel content while exploring all the world has to offer.
Another thing I’ve learnt from my wandering/travelling is: living in the moment and capturing the moment are two disjoint things that sometimes intersect. So many times, people are so immersed in capturing moments that they forget to live in them. So, put down that iPhone sometimes and just breath the beautiful salt tinged air while the waves wash over your feet. Don’t be so pre-occupied with capturing the perfect vacation pictures in your swimsuit that you forget to “be all there”. But, by all means, get that picture of the bit of ice-cream that found it’s way to the tip of your nose; or your boyfriend’s epic fail while you clutch your stomach and double over in laughter. When you’re much older, you’ll be glad you lived in those memories as you recount them to your loved ones.
Is there anything I love more than being outdoors and experiencing life? Sometimes, I feel like I can’t breathe if I don’t go outdoors or have a window open. I love the sun on my skin and people watching ( you know you do too!). So, get outside hunny! Grab that sun hat and venture down to your local flower shop, or get on a skateboard to nowhere. It’ll be fun, trust me!
Oh the joy of getting to know yourself! Part of getting to know myself was chopping off a lot of my hair. I got to know that a part of me found solace in the length of my hair; and I, quite frankly, knew nothing about curly hair. I didn’t know how to make it look cute when I was in a hurry, or how to keep it really moisturized but it’s a work in progress, and I’m still learning!
I’m constantly constantly shopping, and I loved this pair of glasses! They were too cute to be left behind.
I’ve strayed from my healthy eating plan…but, oh well.
What’s a trip to the Big Apple without Starbucks? Non-existent, lol.
I miss my baby! My iPhone has managed to kick my DSLR to the curb with it’s pristine image quality.
Thanks for reading. Tell me if you want more of these!
