Today, I decided I wanted to taste New York City. It is often said that food is the way to a man’s heart, but today, I say food is the way to New York’s heart. In the hustle and bustle of New York, many of our senses are excited but many forget to excite their taste buds too. A rushed McDonalds burger can not be compared to authentic NYC food made with love.
First, let’s talk about UrbanSpace and how cute all their food booths are! Urban space brings “a dynamic array of food and design to unexpected public venues.” I feel like almost every restaurant was pulled right out of Pinterest and placed right there with all their cute signs and what-not. It is so obvious how passionate they are about their food and I fell in love!
Honestly, I was in food heaven when I tasted this Taco! It caught my eyes as I searched through all the pretty food booths. It is from a place called TACO BONO, located amongst the string of other restaurants in Koreatown.
If you’ve ever had a taco before, I can guarantee you it was inferior to the one I had today. This baby was filled with chorizo, an egg, plantains ( can I get an Amen for plantains?), sweet onions, black beans and so much more! It all came together in an explosion of mouth watering delight. I’ve always been a believer in runny yolks because they bring this buttery flavor and a creamy texture that unites all the other flavors in the dish. The sweet plantains were nothing short of amazing because they balanced out the savory aspects of the taco.
When it comes to bubbles, WE ARE ALL STILL KIDS. But, you know human-sized bubbles are more acceptable so enjoy this short clip of me living one of my dreams!
What’s a hot day without an ice cream cone? Not a very good one. Unfortunately, this ice cream was a horrible waste of money because it had the weirdest consistency in the whole world. It was barely even cold. Two thumbs down.
On the other hand, my Nutella and strawberry crêpes were absolutely delightful!
To burn of all the calories that had been acquired as a result of the beautiful UrbanSpace layout and my Ojukokoro ( a word I can’t explain in English, lol) , we went bike riding! So before we get into all of those beautiful pictures, let’s talk about my outfit!
This easy, breezy, beautiful yellow top is from Zara. And to be very honest, I’ve never worn anything cut that low so I was a bit self-conscious at first but I just stopped caring after a while! My pants and shoes are also from Zara, while my bag is thrifted ( for $3.99!!).
And now pictures from Bike riding in Central Park (Not very many because I was trying to be safe, but enjoy)!
To top it all off, I had a Chipotle rice bowl with two tortillas ( the server hooked me up ????✊????) and called it a day.
I hope you enjoyed this read!
